I was painting along the surf in Brigantine, New Jersey and happened to catch the annual lifeguard races between the Brigantine,
Atlantic City and Margate squads. It was fun to incorporate a group of figures into a seascape. |

picturesque as any I've seen along the Northeast coast. I particularly love the blue shadows that fall across the sand in the late afternoon hours. The 156th International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society was held in April at the Salmagundi Club in NYC. My painting Clearing Up Over Dorr Point was a part of the exhibition and was selected to be a part of the traveling show. Here's the schedule, if you're in the area be sure to check it out! Lifeguard Races is my contribution to the American Society of Marine Artists 19th National Exhibition. The show opens on September 9th at the Albany Institute of History and Art in Albany, NY and will continue thorough December 31st, 2023. The exhibition will travel to Winona, MN to the Minnesota
Marine Art Museum where it will run from Jan 19th - May 12th, 2024. |
I'm delighted to share that my watercolor Rainy Day in Gloucester was featured in the esteemed XIV International Watercolor Biennial, hosted by the National Museum of Watercolor "Alfredo Guati Rojo" in Mexico City, Mexico. I am thrilled to reveal that the museum will now include my painting as a permanent addition to their distinguished collection!
